Guest guest
, I labored for 3 days on Pitocin with my first child and ended up with a C-section. It didn't work at all to progress my cervix because the baby was up so high. Turns out he was just to big and my hips to narrow to fit. (Cephalopelvic disproportion) He was 9 pounds 13 ounces. Anyway, there is something called Cervadil they can give you. They put you in the hospital and use the Cervadil directly on your cervix overnight and if it works, then they can use the Pit to help the contractions. Never had this used myself.......and I guess I'm going to have my 4th C-section in July. Good luck and speedy delivery!! Guest guest
I had some sort of gel stuff put in or on my cervix to soften it when i was overdue but it never did anything. I sure hope that baby comes out soon. Madison did the same to my back when I had her and it was terrible and hurt like hell. I shed many tears but she is worth it. After the baby is out that pain will only be a small memory in the back of your mind. I know that is not much comfort now though. I will pray that things go quickly for you. Guest guest
Well girls, I am at my wits end. I'm at 38 weeks today, and my baby is still pressing on every nerve that goes down both legs, and my tailbone is just killing me even more. I'm working half days now cuz I can't sit for very long at all and I can't walk around a whole lot with the shooting pains down my legs. I talked to the OB first on Monday and he said he'd have to wait at least a 1 week from my due date to start me. Then I saw him yesterday and he said we'd have to check and see how my cervix was doing and there was no guarantee that he' be able to start me even then if it wasn't softened. I asked him if there was something that they could put on it to soften it and he said the pictocin was supposed to do that, but I might labor for 2 days and still not have a baby, and he said I could break your water but then you not contract and have to have a c-section and I want to avoid that. Well, so do I, but when my water broke w/ my 1st baby 12 days before my due date it didn't take long at all for the contractions to start and I wasn't even dilated when I got to the hospital. They did pictocin and I had him 16 hours later. Has anyone else had anything else besides the pic to soften and get labor going in their past deliveries? Guest guest
I have used Cervadil with all 3 of my babies. I don't go into labor on my own and all 3 of my babies have weighed 10 pounds. But it has worked for me everytime, so there are things that can be done!
