Guest guest
Hi Mia, I am in Iowa City. I haven't posted since we've been here since my hands are full. I am by myself with Livi and Ava. I have been here two weeks so far. Staying at RMH. They are great here. It does feel like a home away from home. Ava has seen Dr. Ponseti 3x's so far. We are hoping to be leaving the end of next week. He diagnosed her with bilat Atypical club feet. you were right on the money when you said it was an experience. Wow..I don't think I ever met a Doctor so kind, patient, humble and very intrested in what the parents have to say. I believe he is truly blessed. The good news is that her feet are looking great! The off news (don't want to say bad) is that her first tenotomy was done incorrectly and because they cut her and then stitched there is to much scar tissue to do the tenotomy right now. He is hoping that with just proper castings her will be able to stretch her out enough and not have to do a 2nd. We hope to be in the FAB when we leave here. We are leaving ourselves open to the fact that when we return in a month or so she just may need the 2nd tenotomy. I have met several Ponseti babies here they are all in different stages from first castings to out of the FAB and just back for check ups. Have a safe trip.
