Question about traveling and where to stay

My son finally has his appointment with the Ponseti doctor in

Massachusetts on Wednesday. I've been trying to find out if we can

stay overnight at the Mc House, but so far haven't been

able to talk with anyone who knows if they'll have room or not. I

assume there are other places to stay like hotels or motels that give

discounts to patients at the hospitals in town. Is anyone familiar

with places to stay in Springfield, MA? Also, for those who have

stayed in a Mc House, do they have portable cribs and

baby food or do I need to bring those with me?

Thanks,

The Care Coordinator at Shriners should be able to help you out. If you haven't

already, call the main desk and ask for the Care Coordinator. She/he can at

least give you names of places that are near the hospital and offer hospital

rates.

If you do stay at the Mc House, in our experience with the one in

Sacramento, they have everything from cribs to strollers to cabinets stocked

with food.

Our best wishes for your appointment tomorrow. Please let us know how it goes.

We are currently staying at the RMH in Iowa and they don't know if they hava a

room available until you arrive. If there isn't one available they will give

you a voucher for a hotel to stay at a discounted price until a room opens. As

far as a bassinet, this house doesn't have any here, but they do have alot of

baby food in the pantry. It may vary per house, so you may want to call and

ask. Good luck!

Thanks. The Mc HOuse is full and the only hotel with

hospital rates was very expensive, so we're staying with friends.

I'll let everyone know when I get home how the appointment went.

Apparently each RMH is different. They didn't offer me a voucher to

stay anywhere else. Shriner's offered me a room in a discounted

motel, but it was very expensive.
