Guest guest
Over the weekend, I did a quick search for information about pediatric orthopedists and noticed how many new web sites exist with information about the Ponseti method. I saw a site by an apparently new Ponseti method group of doctors in New Jersey (since I don't think that we here have heard of them before) that had a lot of information on Ponseti and Surgical methods that I have not seen elsewhere. I thought that some might be interested in that information. Perhaps the doctors are still a bit new the the Ponseti method as they don't have the name " Ponsetti " spelled correctly yet. Ponseti method information http://www.pediatric- orthopedics.com/Treatments/Feet/Ponsetti/ponsetti.html In the other link includes a photo of what is called a Be-Bax shoe which is a hard photo to find. It seems to be more common in Italy. They also state a surgical rate of 60% was typical in the past which I don't know is really the rate of surgeries that was being done historically. There were doctors doing the surgery 90% of the time and some at 80%, 75% 65%, 60% and so on. As to what the overall rate of surgery was throughout the U.S. in the past, I am not certain. My guess was it was overall about 80%. Please be aware that the Kite method and surgical related information link contains some rather graphic descriptions and discussions of potential risks and potential complications.
