Well gang, it's not real well thought out, more spur of the moment, but here is

what I sent to her for a show idea:

A 90 year old vetran of the Spanish Civil War continues to serve infants and

children (often free of charge) born with congenital clubfeet by using a

non-surgical method of treatment he developed and perfected over the past 50

years.

Dr. Ponseti of the Iowa Children's Hospital in Iowa City Iowa is the Master of

club foot correction - and is one of the best kept secrets in the medical field

where most doctors continue to operate on children's feet causing long term

disability rather than correction.

The hospital forced him to quit once, they said he was too old about twenty

years ago... but he came back and now a whole clinic is named for him and even

at 90 years old he continues to treat babies every day.

Parents travel from all over the USA and abroad to seek his clubfoot treatment

on their infants. I have had two sons treated by Dr. Ponseti. But he is aging

- he is 90 years old and we cannot let his method die with him. We must inform

parents that their babies do NOT need cut open, their feet taken apart and

reassembled.

Please help us honor Dr. Ponseti's generosity and his life time of acheivement

before it's too late. Help us help other parents whose babies may be headed for

the unnecessary knife.

Please look up Dr. Ponseti and his method via the internet - the Iowa Children's

hospital; the nosurgery4clubfoot has many files and photos

documenting Dr. Ponsetis' work as well as links to other documentation.

Children are suffering a life time of pain at the hands of the traditional

surgical approach to correction. Dr. Ponseti won't let a child cry nor be in

pain - his method is so simple, so effec tive; and so gentle, like him; he has

at least 40 years of case study behind him proving his method works yet the

medical community continues to be doubtful. We must change their minds, we must

bring Dr. Ponseti and his method of treatment to the forefront of medical

breakthrough knowledge and save countless babies from surgeries that will

cripple them.

My oldest son was treated by a non-Ponseti doctor for two years before we found

Dr. Ponseti for help, and he continues to suffer ill effects from that previous

bad treatment, and will for all his life. He spent six months in casts and

nearly two years in braces and physical therapy to no avail. My 2nd son we took

directly to Dr. Ponseti when he was but two weeks old; with in a few weeks his

feet were PERFECT. He will never know the pain of bad treatment like his

brother and so many others.

WE must alert the public that they DO have a choice. Even Shriners is slow to

join the Ponseti Cause, continuing to cut on babies feet rather then correct

them simply with no surgery.

One minute with the great Doctor Ponseti and you will fall in love with his

gentleness, his commitment, his love of his babies, as he calls them. We must

continue to spread the word before this wonderful man and all his life's

acheivements die with him. Please give very solid consideration to making a

show about Dr. Ponseti and all the babies he has saved with his method of

treatment. You will find him to be a very warm and inviting guest the whole

world will fall in love with...not the typical pompus doctor we are so

accustomed to seeing.

I notice 98% of all your show ideas now are smut-related....affairs, sex, sex,

affairs...what happend Oprah? Your show used to have some meat to it, now it's

all hollywood and sex. Help the American public again by having Ponseti's

method broadcast to parents all over who NEED this information to save their

babies, please!!! I live with my older son's deformed feet every day due to my

ignorance six years ago. I'm ignorant no longer and we're on a mission to

spread the word that children do NOT need to be cut open to fix this birth

defect!!! They CAN have normal, active lives on perfect feet!

Best Regards,

ee Reese and sons.
