When Livi had her tenotomy, I chose to have my husband go in while I

waited outside, and I think he did help to hold her down. I wasn't

sure I could take seeing her cut, and I decided I could do more for

my baby by being the " safe person " she could come to afterwards.

She was, I think, 3 months old, and I could hear her screaming in the

waiting room. When she was done and I picked her up, she went right

to sleep, and I was glad she felt safe with her mommy.

our Dr. didn't even want any of us in the room but I insisted that

my husband will be present. He was not allowed to come very close to

keep it as sterile as possible. The doctors assistants were holding

down my son.

You may want to help out holding him. It may be helpful to talk to him

comfortly during the procedure so he can hear your voice. I think it

helps them knowing your there!

It ws all very casual when they did my son. My dh was in there " helping " but I

stayed in the hall with our other child. There wasn't much crying, but some -

more from being held than being hurt I believe cuz he had no ill effects

afterwards.
