Unfortunately my pediatrician doesn't work on Fridays or Mondays so seeing her concerning these issues is not easy. She is older and has back problems so has to limit her hours. She is awesome though. Not noticing any foods as making it worse and nothing new in my diet. But I will keep my eyes open to it as a possibility. Asenath's therapist has noted several issues with her when observing her nursing She thinks Zipporrah has hyposensitivity issues and probably reflux issues. I hope we can help her at Mayo. Thanks for your prayers. :) Darla: mommy to Asenath and the gang Re: Reflux/pain worsening {{{{{{{Darla and Zipporrah}}}}}}}}}} I am so sorry you all are having such a hard time hun. Is there any chance the ped might be willing to prescribe a reflux med on a trial basis knowing you'll be back at Mayo so soon??? Its absolutely all I can think of. Oh one other thought.....does she seem any worse after you ingest particular things?? Any chance there is anything new in your diet recently that might be worsening the symptoms? Sending tons of thoughts and prayers and hoping there is some reasonable answer for you guys soon. -- BIG hugs, Kass, proud mom to Chance(10-Mito), Madison(7-Mito), and Abby(5-Mito) Home Page (http://home.swbell.net/mcpoop/index1.htm) Updates (http://www.caringbridge.org/tx/mitowhat/) United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation (http://www.umdf.org) "Life is not about the breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away" Unknown Darla Klein wrote: Zipporrah seems to be getting worse with nursing issues. She is content and happy when not eating but when I nurse her she gets very fussy and stiff as a board. And for some reason when I nurse her on my right breast she is much worse. She really gets stiff and arches and screams and fusses through the feeding. Is there a reason for the right side eing worse than the left? I have tried nursing her with her in different positions such as a more upright football hold or even sitting on my lap facing the breast so she is totally upright and this helps some but she wtill is very fussy. It is very frustrating because I don't like to see her suffer and yet can't so anything about it. Hopefully we will do some testing when she sees Dr. Whiteman on February 11th, but that is so far away from now. Is there nothing I can do sooner for her? Going through her pediatrician would take longer because the wait for a GI doctor i! s about 1-1 12 months plus a week or two more for testing and return visit to the doctor again before getting meds. I know this because Kezia had reflux when she first came to live with us 2 years ago. If she gets much worse with the pain, I don't know what to do. ER probably wouldn't be able to do anything.
