Guest guest
Hi all, Have you ever had one of those days when you wake up and things just don't flow like they normally do?? Well, today was one of those days for us. First thing I do is walk into my boys' room to get them up for school and they are sitting in the same bed together coughing. One of them is croupy coughing! They say to me, " We are sick! " I am sure I had a look of horror on my face as they have never both been sick like this at the same time, and I immediately start saying to God in my mind, " Please don't let them end up in the hospital at the same time!! " Then after letting the dog outside to throw-up--thank God, I got her out just in time, I walk thru the kitchen and I notice a puddle of water in a seam of our laminate flooring. I clean it up, and step down noticing that there is MUCH MORE water in the crack. I also notice there is water on both sides of the crack meaning it is on the kitchen side and the living room side. Further investigation shows that it runs all the way down the seam. I immediately get a hold of the Plumber, which thank God he tells me he can be here within 2 hours. Better yet, he shows up in a half hour, Yay!! He can't find the leak, so he has to tear part of my wall out and part of my ceiling out to find it. But, he finds it! Yay again!!! Well, to make a long story short I am in shock thru this whole fiasco because we had only put in our new laminate floors & ceiling, etc. in the last year and a half. Then the abatement company comes out and starts tearing up our liminate floors and the water is under the kitchen, dining room and part of the living room floors. (The laminate floors we have are glued together. They are not the newer kind that locks in place requiring no glue which means a lot more of it has to be pulled up, from seam to seam, and replaced than just pulling out a small section and replacing the small section.) There is more bad news to this story, but this gives you an idea of what our day was like. I hope yours was better all. I haven't even had a chance to check my email posts. Please pray that the kids will get healthy as there is a lot of junk flying through the air in our house now with all of the events of the day. They want us to keep all of the doors and windows closed as the dehumidifiers are running along with fans to dry walls, cabinets, etc. Thanks for letting me vent!
