Guest guest
No, Dr. Whiteman is not a neurologist. He used to be a pediatrician and then changed into genetics. This is an issue I need to deal with her neuro on due to the complexity of her case. Thankfully her real bad migraines aren't as often as they used to be. She does tell me when they get very bad and when they are bothering her I find her with twisted hair and then the rubbing. I know what you mean about being hard to know they are suffering. It was agony when Asenath had horrible migraines in 2002. And since then when they flare up I remember how bad and desperate for answers I was. Now, I watch Asenath and Zipporrah and feel so bad that they can't be normal happy children without anything to hold them back. I hate to see them constantly taking steps backwards after making progress over and over again. Asenath had another small stroke episode yesterday and the only thing I have noticed is that her speech has been affected. She is thick tongued and slurs. Yesterday I was worried it might be a beginning of something further, but it seems to be all thus far. Her Speech therapist noticed it today as well and said she wasn't saying her L sounds at all. Frustrating as she worked so hard on those for the last half a year. These stupid viruses! Zipporrah has learned to roll over three times as each time she learned she had another stroke episode and had to relearn it. I guess I am thankful they have been able to relearn as well as they have. Asenath (4) is at a 2-2 1/2 year level in all areas (speech, cog., phys. and occ.) The accumulation adds up to cause her not to be able to keep up with others her age, but I think she is amazing!
