I have never heard of the motrin only being used for a higher fever, interesting. As far as ibuprofen, Motrin, being safe, this is all we are supposed to use for her. For pain control she usually still only takes motrin, but when it is extreme we use prescription. In the hospital they use iv Toradol on her. But for home use we use straight Codeine. It is a level 3 or 4 narcotic without the Tylenol in it so only a hospital pharmacy is allowed to dispense it. We have to be extra cautious, though, because we first have to make sure it is mito safe, and then make sure it is metabolized through the kidneys not the liver. We have been known to make a couple of residents think about that one.

Hi ,

I know you struggle with gastro problems. Does Ibuoprofen bother your

stomach at all? I know i have stomach problems and am on Aciphex 2x

per day. My stomach is much better after taking this for almost 2 years

and I think I could take this medicine now, but couldn't before.

has delayed gastric emptying, etc. so I wonder would it be harsh on his

stomach if I give it every 6-8 hours for a couple of days?

Just curious.
