That's real interesting about in-utero hiccups. All my kids had lots of hiccups in-utero. I know that some of them had it up to 5 times daily or even higher. I always thought it amazing how often they had them but assumed all babies did that due to their immature systems. I would be hearing more of what Dr. Whiteman had to say concerning them. Darla Re: GI problems? Hi Tamara :-) Seems as though there could be a correlation between the two for sure, particularly since his swallow study came out okay. Maybe if the reflux is brought under control the swallowing issues will wane also.....hope so atleast!! Only thing I can share on the hiccups is that Dr. Whiteman commented about Madison hiccuping all the time when she was in the womb (and to this day still hiccups more than most). He said while he has no scientific evidence of it, he has heard of this happening far too often in mito kids to not see it as a possible indication of a child with a metabollic disease. Not sure if this applies to the kids that once they are born have hiccups alot or not, he was just commenting on the in-utero sort. Keeping you guys in my thoughts and prayers. -- BIG hugs, Kass, proud mom to Chance(10-Mito), Madison(7-Mito), and Abby(6-Mito) Home Page (http://home.swbell.net/mcpoop/index1.htm) Updates (http://www.caringbridge.org/tx/mitowhat/) United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation (http://www.umdf.org) Featured children on the Make A Child Smile.
