Hey

I don't know about amino acids but I think they look for them to be bigger gaps than that. However, Gaige (my autistic, unrelated to my mito kid child) has quite high Alk Phos...like in the 500's and no one seems concerned. I called his geneticist...we haven't had a normal value in four tests! Then I found a lab from when he was 19 months old and it was elevated even back then. The pedi (and even though i 'like' our pedi, I have never completely trusted one)says its no big deal, but for me its still eating at me. When I called the geneticist he said to talk to the pedi but we are seeing her again in April and I plan to really nail her on it an dhave her put it in the file. Sometimes when they seem to be ignoring things, I find that if you make them document it they arent' always as likely to discard it. How old is your child?

deb...mom to three great adopted kids... (07.04.96-05.26.03) with Mitochondrial Disease, Gaige age 5 with High Functioning Autism & dysfluency and Bliss age 2 with very very mild Cerebral Palsy.www.HeartLiftersGallery.com

I just got most of the test results back for my son Drew (13).

If any one could help it would be appreciated. These are the

abnormal results:

FBS:110 (n70-105)high

Alk phos:371 (n36-365)high

Abnormal urine amino acids:

aspartic acid 139 (18-62)high

Cystine: 22 (27-151)low

Leucine 19 (27-97)low

Tyrosone: 307 (27-204)high

Normal blood amino acids

I am most concerned about his alk phos., though I know that they say

it can be high in growing children (it is really high compared with

the normal values I found online.

Sound familiar to anyone? It's just like mito. Not

normal, but not indicative of anything.UGH!!!!!

Thanks, Dawn
