HI All:

Yesterday Leah got up early, which is unusual for her. But then, again,

she did have a fairly good nights sleep. Anyway, she ate breakfast of a

sandwich, then for lunch had another sandwich and part of an apple. I

got home from grocery shopping and she wanted me. (My husband is not

working due to losing his job; so he's home with her) Well first of all

I have been trying to get her more independent at home and put her in

her pony walker, which she was quite mad at me and crying about it. So

after about 5 minutes I put her back on her chair and got her calmed

down to watch tv. Tried giving her gold fish crackers. She ate may be

5 of them. Then I made dinner about an hour and a half later and she

refused to eat. I had asked her if she was hungary and she put her hand

on her belly; so that is why I got her dinner ready. But she kept

crying and getting mad at me. And this was her favorite. Grilled

cheese, and mandarin oranges and yogurt. Especially the oranges. She

was so mad that even when I took her out of her chair she was crying on

the couch; so I gave her a time out in her bedroom to calm down. She

did and I got her in her pjs; and she was excited about this. So....I

thought may be she was really tired. She did take her bottle on the

couch and slowly fell asleep at 7:40 p.m. So then I carried her to her

bedroom and laid her on her bed and about 10 minutes went by and she

woke up. Tried feeding her again. No luck. But she did try taking

juice in a cup. About 9:00 p.m. took her out of her highchair and

then gave her a bottle with her rice milk and polycose. Her cheeks were

red and she felt a little warm, so I took that to being overtired. She

fell asleep again at 9:30 p.m. and I could put her down. She fussed

around 12:30 a.m. and my husband went in with a bottle and slept with

her. So now to my questions about her weird night. Sorry so long

getting there. He said he felt it was a little rough because she kept

moving. More from the waist down and her hands. Not really twitching,

just moving. What we call involuntary movements. She didn't drink her

whole bottle last night either when he took it to her. So this morning

at 8:20 a.m. she woke up and is on the couch and still not eating. She

only had a couple bites of a jam sandwich. Like a quarter of a

sandwich. So we are concerned. She just doesn't seem herself and we

are wondering if we should call her ped or her neurologist about this.

For Leah not to eat is big time and I felt may be she is getting sick.

Her brother was home yesterday with a headached and a stomach that

hurt. I've had a cold but nothing major of a cold. So wondering what

this could be. Thanks for the input and sorry so long; but felt you

needed to have a feel for her whole day and her behavior, which wasn't

normal for Leah. She is usually very busy, happy, and loves to eat;

especially crackers and mandarin oranges. Thanks again for any input.

lisa,

i would call her pediatrician. you all know best about when leah is

just not herself....is your doctor good about working her in?

better safe than sorry....and since both you and your husband feel

something isn't right, it probably isn't. stick with your

instincts...

hope this helps.
