Guest guest
Where exactly on the UMDF site is the information? I am very interested in this information. Zipporrah will have a total anesthetic, which I assume will include the breathing tube an all this Wednesday. Aseanth cannot use the gas method(which unfortunately I do not know the name of) because it makes her unable to wake up easily from it and also causes hysteria while partially asleep/awake. She uses "something" through an IV just fine however, and will request that for Zipporrah. But I really feel that I SHOULD know the names of what they use and the effects so I am prepared in the future. I am so bad with memory issues and never seem to have paper when I need it, so I have recently purchased a scheduling book to help. Darla: mommy to Asenath, Zipporrah, Luke, Leah, , Isaac, Tirzah, Kezia, and Marquis and wife to Dean Re: Abdominal CT any problem with Contrast? The last CT he had they used Chloral Hydrate, and he was miserable afterward very combative and it took close to 36 hours , Chelsea had chloral hydrate for her very first sedation at 18 mos for an MRI, this was before we knew she had mito. I remember it took her a very long time to wake up after and she was very lethargic. The nurses were mildly concerned and kept her most of the afternoon, until they saw her drinking some and keeping her eyes open (she was still orally fed at that time). When she was set up for her next procedure, I explained to her ped, the dr preforming the procedure and the anethesiologist about her reaction. A note was put in her chart and chloral hydrate has not been used with her again. There is an article at www.umdf.org that explains what sedatives are good and which should be avoided. I usually bring that article with me to give to the anethesiologist before the procedure. HTH e, Chelsea's mom(nonspecific mito)Please contact mito-owner with any problems or questions.
