Guest guest
Hi Kim: I had posted asking about a double for my girls and they are hard to find. We have an HMO insurance and they are paying for our stroller. If your insurance won't cover it there are a few programs out there that might help you. I posted 2 sites today that had some resources on them ~ I believe there will be something on there for you to try. The other thing would be to call the Department of Public Health in your area, tell them your daughter has mito and what your needs are. They may be able to give your some resources in your area. For us they were the first place I called after getting the diagnosis and was given a lot of goo info. I made a list of things I needed in the stroller (reclining seats, foot rests, sun shade, rain cover, max weight allowed, weight of stroller alone). Here are a few sites: www.adaptivemall.com x201 I have spoken with there a few times over the past few day regarding a stroller for us. She was very nice and helpful. http://www.childrenwithspecialneeds.com/allstrollers.html http://www.bright-start.com/strollers.htm http://store.yahoo.com/dmart2/spnest.html Good luck. She is 5 and fatigues easily. We went to Bush Gardens today and had to carry her alot. She is too big for an umbrella stroller. Is it hard to get the insurance to approve? We are military and I do not know how to begin the process. Do I get her therapist to write a prescription? I know this subject was a topic several weeks ago and someone posted a good link to some strollers. Does anyone remeber? Thanks for any input! Take care~Kim Please contact mito-owner with any problems or questions.
Guest guest
The therapist writes why a stroller or such is medically necessary. We had Leah's school physical therapist write a letter for insurance stating why we needed a certain piece of equipment. We have at times had the doctor write a letter too. If you can get both to write a letter (and keep a copy for yourself) it is better. Nerenhausen mom to Leah mkbarrow2 wrote: > I am just curious b/c I think I am going to see if Madison can get > one.
