Guest guest
Hi there I don't think anyone answered you but as I understand it the cytochrome c oxidase means that he has COX or Complex IV. I am not sure aobu tthe other two. Who ordered these? Can they explain them to you. I will tell you by the time we got our dx in the mail I understood much more about mito than our local docs so they didn't even call me. This is a better report than Athena generally does. They often give much vague=er dxs and many kids have to have fresh biopsies done later. Do you have a mito doc? If you dont, you should consider going to Mayo to see Whiteman, Ohio to see Cohen or if you are in New England we adore Dr Mark Korson. Let me know if you have any other questions. deb...mom to three great adopted kids... It can be overwhelming, especially if you have to take two! deb...mom to three great adopted kids... Guest guest
Thank you for replying! These tests were ordered by our local neurologist. He says now he can't see us until the end of May. We sent our medical records to Dr. Cohen in October and they called back and said they would schedule an appt. for him but we've never heard back. At this point we've decided to see Dr. Whiteman because we're concerned our daughter may also be affected. It all seems so overwhelming and takes forever to schedule all the necessary travel, etc. Again, thank you for replying.
