Guest guest
Hi! I have also been using "baby signs" with my 19 month old (unaffected so far) and he learns them quickly, and loves to show them off. Heck -- It can't hurt!! I know I hardly ever post on this list, I do have a mito daughter (MIDS) -- she's 6, and has been doing very well. Last week, she developed a uti and kidney stones. We are no stranger to the UTI's, but the kidney stones came out of left field. I have had them, but only while I was pregnant, and certainly not while I was 6. She was beyond hysterical with the pain, and it took us days to figure it out. Has anyone dealt with pediatric kidney stones, or know a cause for them? Thanks! jen

Guest guest
Jen, Yes, I had a kidney stone at age 17. I was the youngest person they had ever seen in the ER with a kidney stone. They had to do lipotripsy on me to crush it because I had a kidney infection as well. Because I was so small I couldn't have a cystoscope done. My stone proved to be a calcium. There's still no explanation for why I had one at such a young age.
