Guest guest
Talk to Dr. Whiteman more about this issue because when I was having pain the day I saw him he mentioned to me it was very common for Mito people to have problems/failure of the pancreas. This is all I know and I wish I knew more, especially since I need to have my gall bladder removed in a couple weeks due to its failure to fill. By the way, it was nice meeting you. Glad to know your home again. Get some rest. I know tripe to Mayo can become very tiring. We are thankful we live so close. We made trips the last 5 weeks in a row to Mayo. Hopefully we will have a break for a little while. Darla: mommy to Asenath, Zipporrah, and the gang Pancreatic Insufficiency & Mito???? Does anyone's child have Pancreatic Insufficiency? Caden's is severe and started enzyme therapy yesterday. I am so tired. I'd love to explain in more detail but just glad to have a moment to myself at the moment. I honestly knew this was the problem for 3 yrs! It just took him getting near lifeless to get answers. We just got back from Mayo Sat. from almost a 2 wk stay. Needless to say it was not a pleasant time but very productive. Hospital stays and IV's, needles, general anesthetic procedures, etc.... I haven't heard of anyone mention this in thier Mito. child! I have been reluctant about posting as I even hate to think that there could be something more to this than we think. Caden has virtually NO enzyme production in his pancreas (exocrine side). He has to take enzymes every single time he eats anything for the rest of his life! Please if anyone has any ideas or has a similar situation, please fill me in! They take the enzymes with their meals and snacks. My son started taking them when he was born and has adjusted real well.
