Guest guest
Hi everyone, We are also gearing up for back surgery, and I've been reading the posts about not using tylenol, although I can not find literature on that specifically - why you shouldn't use that is you can avoid it with a child with mito? Can anyone give me a website/literature that discusses that? Is advil/motrin ok to use? I've used both with and always thought the tylenol makes her a little worse, but can't say for sure as we use it when she is sick to begin with.... but if there is literature about this I might strictly stick with the advil/motrin type of pain relief after surgery. Guest guest
..... but if there is literature about this I might strictly stick with the advil/motrin type of pain relief after surgery. , Ibuprofin SHOULD NOT be used 2 weeks prior or 2 weeks post surgery. It has blood thinning properties and can hinder the healing process or cause excessive bleeding. I would discuss other pain relief options with your dr. My daughter seems to tolerate tylenol ok, some mito pts do, I just use it very sparingly and as little as possible, like when she has surgery and ibuprofin is not an option. If somebody has already relayed this info, excuse my repeat=) Krisitne, Chelsea's moM(nonspecific mito)
