Guest guest
After working with Social Security Claims I would like to say that hiring an attorney who does this work is well worth the expense. After you get denied it is very difficult to get it reversed. The key is that your disability has to keep you from doing any type of work at all, not just your present position. Guest guest
Welcome, Jimi, to our group. I think that it is a very good group. We are supportive, caring and loving. If you need any information, ask and you will get an answer if not right away. Sometimes, the folks on the list, are having flares, can't handle using their computers or are just to tired to do anything. So please don't get impatient if you don't hear right away. Just ask again. If you feel like venting, go right ahead. We all at one time or another. Again, welcome to the list and I hope that something that is discussed can help you. Guest guest
Hi Jimi, I'm a Type II Bipolar (mostly depression, slight mania). I am new to Fibro, and I was wondering what meds have worked for you, since it seems that most Fibro people are on antidepressants. I know from painful past experience that I can not take antidepressants - they make me psychotic/suicidal, whereas I have been able to manage the bipolar for the most part without meds as long as I can get enough sleep and manage my stress. Now I'm in so much pain that I can't sleep much and I know it's only a matter of time before the bipolar kicks in. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Cinder from AZ ---------------------------------

Guest guest
I have the same type as you. My therapist had me on neurontin for the bipolar and effexor for the depression, she just switched my meds to paxil and topomax?? I can't remember as I didn't start them yet. I'd go look but if i did I would disturb Cheyenne and she is SUPPOSED to be asleep, though I hear her lol. She switched because I complained I was too tired to care for my kids. I actually find no matter what meds I end up on I get that side effect. I been seperated from hubby since December so I am doing this solo. I need to be ready to go lol. Anyway, you name it I was probably on it. I was never given a sleeping pill, pain killer or muscle relaxer yet and for fibro I found mobic actually helps me. It's in the anti-inflamatory category. It wasn't a huge amount, but it at least has helped a bit. I haven't tried a higher dose because I noticed it seemed to bother my colon a bit at first, and I don't want to risk setting my IBS off any again. You can get it any place they sell vitamins including places like Kmart, Target and drug stores. It's a bit pricey, the one brand is like $20 for 30 pills, but I found a store brand that is quite a bit cheaper. Darcy

Guest guest
Welcome to our list. I bet you are counting the days until January. Lori in Florida (Mom to 3, 1wcf) Introduction Hello, I am new in the neighborhood (board). I just wanted to introduce my self because I feel wrong just reading your posts without your concern. I just enrolled yesterday to the messages and already have an approach. It seems that CF is same in parents all around the world. I am from Argentina 27 y.o. and I am attending to The College of and at the full time MBA. My wife and son are still back in my country. It was one of my mistakes to assume that it would be possible to bring them to live with me to US. In my country, even when we have a lot of problems (Government took our savings last December, devaluated our currency 300% and made unemployment rate rise to 40%), Health Insurance has bigger coverage for CF than here (not better, just bigger). Few years ago, CF was declared `social illness'; that status gave CF people the right to be covered 100% at any HI in which they are, they even have the right to ride the bus for free. Actually, Santiago, my son, was diagnosed when he was 7 months old, our first feeling was: " What did we make wrong??? " But, after few days, we found out that this was no `extra charge' because what wonderful boy he is. Nowadays, I am planning my return to spend a month with him and my wife back in my country. In January is his birthday and mine, so, I'll have a special party, my 28s and his 2s. It is very nice to find people sharing pain to multiply strength, I'll appreciate if you accept me as a member of the board. Sincerely. Lucas. Santiago's father. 2 y.o. w/CF. Guest guest
GOLLY,=====I am sorry its been so rough on you all. Those ice storms are the pits to have on top of other health issues. I do home they will improve with the Home health care ..maybe that will also help you some. Great wishes coming at ya!! LOVE & HUGS, GrandmomBEV Introduction Hi all, Very glad to have found this support group. I have 2 children, Josh is 12 w/CF and Rebekah is 6 w/o CF. Things have been crazy around here lately. The day before Thanksgiving Josh had to be admitted for a blockage. It was tough, he had nothing to eat for nearly 5 days while go-lightly was running through him. While he was going through that, he had a bronch clean out and started on his IV meds. We couldn't get home due to the ice storm. Finally made it home and have one more week of IV meds to go. Thank goodness for home health services. Tammy in NC
