Guest guest
Darla, So sorry to hear of all the problems Zipporah is having. It isn't enough that Asenath has so many problems, and now Zipporah. I remember when Audrey had her MRI's they sedated her with Chlorohydrate and the first time she was pretty much out of it for at least a day and a half. They second time they didn't use nearly as much medication and she did much better. Maybe the GI doc could get you in sooner than the 2nd of Feb if they have a cancellation. I am praying for all of you. May God be with you, Kathy, grandma to Audrey,29mos
Guest guest
Darla: I don't have experience with that, but hope that she will get well after the anesthesia completely leaves her. I'm hoping and praying for you to get smoothly to that Feb appt. Why aren't the docs in more of a hurry, it is so frustrating... Thinking of you. We are home from Zipporrah's MRI/MRA finally. We went up yesterday figuring to come home following the procedure but ended up needing to stay overnight for observation. We used an IV anesthesia with a preparatory dose of Versaid and the techs said all went fine with the scans. However, following it she was very slow to wake and had a lot of difficulty nursing. She hadn't nursed from 8:30 AM until after 5 PM that evening (Her scans were at 1:30-3:00 PM). She seemed famished and so I tried to nurse her. She just kept gulping tons of air very loudly, gagging, and was swallowing over and over again after only 2 sucks and could hardly catch her breath. This kept happening all evening. We tried for several hours to get her to nurse (her IV fell out during the procedure I learned so she was without any nourishment) and finally got one half decent meal in her at bedtime. She was very floppy all evening and I had to support her head totally or it would flop. Still this morning, even after being released, she has thrown up 5 times and not able to hold much down. I am wondering if others have had this experience and if so how long before it got better. She had problems before the scans with gagging, air swallowing, and reflux, but now it has multiplied in intensity and is worrying me. Somehow I have to get to the Feb. 2nd GI visit to get testing done on her Noone seems to be in a hurry at all except for me. Guest guest
This sounds just like Grace with all of her procedures. She always is very sleepy, and not interested in food. It usually takes her at least 24 hours before she starts to come around. I also remember my oldest daughter after having a sedation, being very out of it all day. I don't think she was as long as Grace to come back. It was a long time ago, but I would guess it to be at least 12 hours or so before she even cared what was going on. Best of luck to you. Hopefully everything turns out normal for her. Have you received any of her bloodwork back yet?
