Guest guest
> my question is in the state of indiana does anyone know what it takes to get homebound school or to withdraw one with handicaps at 16 or is the age higher? I would go do a search on homeschooling Indiana, and see what you come up with. There are surely support groups there, and they would be able to tell you everything you need to know. Or, you could call the school district, or the state office of education. Lynne - homeschooling for 8 years in Utah

Guest guest
We home schooled our daughters for 3 1/2 years. You should be able to contact your state ed dept. to get the pertinent laws for your state. In NY the home schooling guidelines were online at the state ed dept.'s web site. I also don't know about home schooling and still getting services, we're going to have to find that out soon. I hope you find a solution that works for you and brigitte. hi all, i really need some help. we have had trouble all year at school with differant things and here it goes again. the other day brigitte wore a shirt that had real short sleeves (almost sleeveles) and the teacher sent a note saying she could not wear it. today she wore one with the words hooters and a silver star on it.(not an owl on each hooter mine you just the word). i received another note. brigitte also was upset that she ate lunch at 11:00 by her self and the other kids had to wait 2 hours later so they could go on a field trip that they didn't ask brigitte if she wanted to stat for.so that was unfare to all the kids and in my opion unsafe to the ones that have to eat on a regular time. then in the note i was ask about this baclofen pump that we are going to the dr in june to talk about. the teacher said she didn't know what they would be able to do with brigitte if she gets this and that she hoped we as her parents would surely do what was best for her. there hasn't been to many days brigitte has came home happy this year she is almost always in tears. my question is in the state of indiana does anyone know what it takes to get homebound school or to withdraw one with handicaps at 16 or is the age higher? i don't think brigitte or me can go through another year of this. i'd like to go to school and pull the teachers hair out right about now.if anyone can help me or tell me where to find laws on this PLEASE DO SO thanks karen Please contact mito-owner with any problems or questions. Guest guest
I checked on the information and found an address where you can write to: www.doe.state.in.us Room 229, State House Indianapolis, Indiana, 46204-2798 V: F: webmaster@... Hopefully there should be some recourse as to possibly going before the School Board Superintendent and speaking about all the recurrent problems. In my own situation-when I was in junior high-I would constantly get pushed down the stairs. I needed to use the handrails on the left side or go very slowly up on the right. It was horrible. So after the year was nearly over, my parents immediately went to a school bard meeting and requested special permission to go to a county school/instead of a city, where we were zoned for. The school board diliberated and finally approved it. Personally I feel if there is a problem with this teacher, the problem should be addressed-regardless if you decide to take her out of school altogether. Feel free to email me privately if you wish...gardn02@... Guest guest
I am so sorry that you are running into such ignorant people! Mean, ignorant people. The nerve of that woman!!!! I have a nephew (non-blood-related) with adrenoleukodystrophy who is on an extremely low fat diet too and, my God, if someone did that to him - I can only imagine how angry you are!!! Time to put on your MFH t-shirt. Good luck, Anne R
