I received some news yesterday at Zack's IEP meeting at preschool. His pt

person wasn't there but she is real sweet and I will be contacting her about

her assessment..she usually keeps me posted but things have been busy.

Anyway, his speech therapist said that he has regressed some with pocketing

of food and his speech where he was substituting k and g for d and t and it

may be from using the pacifier so long but she said when she asks about a

picture he can name it but properly but then when conversing, he can't say

it right. His OT said that he has gotten weaker. That in trying to pick

stuff out of the playdough, he is having a real hard time when he use to be

able to do it. He keeps trying to switch hands and he still can bring his

legs in to his chest and grab them with his arms/hands like getting into an

egg or rollong up in a ball position. He tries to pull his shirt out to try

and button instead of allowing the shirt to rest on his chest..she says he

is so amazingly tight. He doesn't like to move his hips because he gets off

balance he has the spinal lordosis which he now really uses that curve to

support himself..he looks barrel chested. He will be 4 May 27 and weighs 27

lbs and is very short..he is the 3rd percentile or lower. He runs and rides

his little bike with training wheels and tried to keep with the other kids

and then when he comes in, he cries cause he is so tired. Sometimes it

isn't to bad, then other times he cries almost incessently. My question is,

for those whose kids have regressed, what was the first sign and do you

think this can just be a step back before taking a step forward...like a

lull in his development. He had symptoms since birth of the

disorder..cyclic vomiting, didn't walk until 17 months or sit until 12-13

months and didn't roll over unitl after 7 months. Doesn't have seizures but

I think he gets migraines..he complains of his eyes hurting real bad and

being closed when they are open...His therapist now put him only a year

behind when he was worse..he has made great progress even though it seems to

be a little regression now. They are waiting to see if it gets worse and

really keeping an eye on him.

Thanks for all that respond and guiding me..
