Thanks for the note. We have been having a hard time with several of the children. Luke is just starting to get better after 5 weeks of major hacking and inability to breath, Leah is still vomiting throughout the day and night, is coughing quite a bit and has more of the cold type symptoms at this point, Isaac is still going at it bad w/ asthma not helping, Tirzah seems to be recovering, Asenath is getting worse but not too horrible yet (at least I am not panicking yet), Kezia is slightly bad, Marquis is barely coughing, and Porrah is mostly just irritable but vomiting more. Dean and I are holding up strong with slight throat pain but no coughing so hopefully we will remain so. It seems to be like a hospital around here lately! But I see a light at the end of the tunnel for some so that it good. I NEVER want to see this virus again that it for sure! I appreciate any and all prayers. Darla: mommy to a household of sick kids! Re: More bad news Darla,My 8 year old had pertussis several years ago. In fact, everyone in the family had it. Colin got it from a fully vaccinated friend who had a "cough". Colin only had 3 rounds of pertussis shots because he had a horrible arthus reaction to his last dose. At times he coughed so hard that he vomited. His asthma flared and he was quite sick for nearly a month (for the longest time the doctor just thought it was his asthma).I think it is the pertussis toxin that causes the horrible cough. If the infection is treated in the early stage--theoretically there would be less bacteria around to release toxin. Pertussis has three stages--catarrhal (cold like symptoms), paroxysmal (whoop like coughing is present), and convalescent stage (coughing is better but not gone).I will keep your family and especially your little ones, Asenath and Zipporrah, in my prayers, Please contact mito-owner with any problems or questions.

Darla,

BLESS YOU, BLESS YOU !!

You are an amazing mommy.

I only had four to get sick at one time, and that was almost more than I could handle.

I will remember you all in my prayers and ask that the kids all get better by the hour.

Thanks for the offer but my kids are actually toward the end of the virus and I have also done lots of research so I know quite a bit already. However, if you want to share your story or anything else, feel free to. :) Darla Re: More bad news >Date: Fri, 30 Jan 2004 01:19:55 -0600 > >{{{{{{Darla and family}}}}}} > >You guys sure need a break!!!!
