Guest guest
Joni, We have chosen to get the scooter verses the electric wheel chair for Kira or 13 year old because we want her to look as non medical as possible if that makes since. Dr. Boles has really recommended to us that we keep her as normal as possible due to her age and the social issues that go with it. She is totally excited about getting her scooter if it ever gets through the perscription/insurance nightmare, we are going on 7 months waiting for it to come. Hang in there! Guest guest
Our daughter is three and she uses a power chair for mobility she too can walk but it fatigues her so fast that the rest of her falls apart. She has a custom tilt and recline chair that holds her O2 and monitors as well as her cooler for her cool suit it is great. It took a while to get authorization for but well worth it. It goes to school and was truley a blessing on her wish trip to disney world. I think power is the only way to go !! just an oppinion wheelchairs vs. mobility scooters Does anyone have any advice about using mobility scooters instead ofwheelchairs for long distance walking? Collin can walk fine but cannot walk long without muscle cramps and fatigue, in addition it usestoo much energy putting him into a downward spiral. We are in the process of getting a mobility scooter for him but would like any insight into it. Thanks for the help.
