He gets the worst bumps/rash around his mouth from his drool

Saliva has digestive enzymes in it and can irritate the skin with constant contact. Someone on my eczema list passed on an article about saliva and that constantly licking your lips can cause chronic cracking at the corners of the mouth.

It was wierd too the other day he had barbeque sauce and Usually its fine but he got bbq sauce on one spot on his face and I whiped it off and it left a burn mark/little welt where the sauce was .

He could just have sensitive skin. I do and many foods irritate my skin, particularly fruits.

My son used to be like that. His skin was

so sensitive to everything. He now takes Robinal (a

motion-sickness medication) to dry up his saliva. His skin looks so much better

now.

Maddie gets this too, on one side of her lower lip. She also gets the red welts if she gets ranch anywhere outside her mouth. (so does my oldest daughter) HTH.
