Guest guest
An MDA doc is through the Muscular Dystrophy Association. I do not know if they even do testing to diagnose, but I doubt they would do a fresh biopsy if it were done with a MDA doctor. You may, however, be able to go through Cohen or Shoffner and have MDA pay for it, I really don't know. MDA helps pay for services your insurance normally will not pay for, on a child who has an accepted disease. Your best bet would be to call them, you can get the numbers off the website www.mdausa.org.
