Just remember one thing.

You can always produce Boone for all to see if you need to. Just make sure

it is on one of the time change days and he seen you change the time on the

clocks. ;0).

OK then let me throw this out-Keion needs some special equipment not covered

by insurance and which is very costly. If we apply for welfare and use the

money to buy him what he needs because his parents are not now nor are they

ever going to help (GRRRR.....) are we exploiting the system? I think not.

If Boone has commercial success and it ends up affording him security have

you not done your job by helping from a marketing aspect?

just thinking oputloud here..lol

You know I watch The Food Channel and they are forever having people on

various shows who made mega bucks from marketing food items they made at

home and everyone kept telling them whatever it was was the best ever, like

cookies,cheesecakes,pies etc.

If doing any of these things could benefit Boone and

your family in any way, then go for it. If it would

bother Boone to reproduce of give away his work, then

I'd say no. You could put all of the proceeds in a

trust fund for Boone so that you are providing for his

future. Or you could donate to Autism research. And

plenty of parents of disabled kids have written books,

produced videos, gone on the lecture circuit and some

people think they're exploitive and some don't. You

can't control what other people think.

You're a smart woman, Sissi. Do what your gut tells

you is best and ignore the critics.

Do it all. and split the proceeds between donating to the autism cause of

your choice and a trust fund for Boone. THEN dare them to say a word.

Sissi,

Why not all three? I don't see how they could possibly think you are

exploiting him! You could even put the profits into a trust account for him

when he's older, apply it to his care now, donate some to an autism research

group, or whatever. I say go for it!

I read it just now. They're just waxing intellectual.

Are you curious to read the Gibson book to find out why they compared you to

Nora Steel?

Warning: Gibson is HEAVILY into technology as his basis for novels and can

be a very difficult read (at least for a non-techno freak like me)

Ditto what Cecilia said. I agree 100%.

Boone's future needs are not going to be cheap. I don't see this as

exploitation. I see it as Boone contributing to his own future. But

then I believe completely that you have Boone's well-being at heart.

Outsiders who don't understand your family situation aren't going to

understand. They don't understand Boone now, why would they

understand later? They may say some pretty cruel, vicious things to

you. Are you ready to ignore them? (because you should, they're not

worth it.)

Tina

for her future. I've never thought you are exploiting him. I don't

know who told you that, but it's not true.

actual work. I am pretty open minded and I am sure you would use the

money for good causes and not to buy luxuries for yourself, but other

people might think that way. You have to think if what those people

think matters to you or not.

I am very curious, but haven't ordered it yet. The card I use for

Amazon is maxed out at the moment (shock!) And the way they keep

talking about how expensive it is, I may just try to check it out at

the library.

I was reading other messages on the board and they refer to Stella

(the sister) as the one who puts the " footage " on the internet and

causes the plot line in the first place.

From what I've read, I have to assume the plotline is the search for

Nora (the artist). Of course, I could be wrong.

Answering my own post.

The price of the book " Pattern Recognition " is $18.17 on Amazon.com --

that's for the hardcover edition! I wonder why they're whining about

the price on that forum?

However, I have been accused of " exploiting " Boone simply by having a

website for his artwork (never mind the fact that he loves his website and

insists that new artwork is added all the time).

I know I have asked this before, but it is getting to the point that I am

being asked quite often and I feel like I should do something soon.

What would be the best thing to do?

Prints? A book? Actual clocks?

All of the above?

Sissi

<<<<<<<<,

Why not all of the above? I find it anything but exploitive. Boone has a

true talent. Would people accuse you of exploiting him if he wasnt'

Autistic? I don't think so.

If you use the money for Boone, and he is enjoying making what you sell, I

don't see any problem with it whatsoever. What else are you going to do

with it all, anyway? Throw it out?

People are idiots. You know this.

Whatever is easiest for you? Whatever people are asking for?

Good luck!
