Hi Dawn,

It depends on how much IVIG she is getting and how fast the rate is to determine how long the infusion time will be. Mine was a 4 hour infusion. I always did fine while there and recieving the IVIG. Hope does well next week.

Dawn,

I get gamma globulin through subcutaneous mechanism (don't remember the name) but I've had IVIG as well. What would be helpful to know? Ask me and I"ll try to answer.

They do tend to run the IV's slow and they should as you don't want to have an adverse reaction. I had one bad reaction (anaphylaxis but it was because I have IgA antibodies and they had not given me my typical gamma solution that is extremely low in IgA) and it was stopped quickly and I felt better quickly. Sometimes, if I was dealing with a current infection, I would get the chill's etc.

I have to run... but please, if you have specific questions, ask me and I will try to answer them. IVIG has been a lifesaver for me - I have much fewer infections and don't need nearly as many antibiotics.
