Guest guest
Geri-Anne, IVIG stands for Intravenous Immunoglobin. I don't know what else they do for a poor immune system as IVIG was the only option in our case. Since I am not a doctor or nurse, I can only tell you from our experience. They tested all sons blood for white count, B Cells, T Cells, and IGG levels. Because his levels were so low they determined that he needed IVIG. In addition, they tested all of his childhood immunizations to see what he was immune to, and they found that he was not immune to anything but Chicken Pox (which he had a very bad case of when he was 2). His cells have no memory of immunizations so he needs the IVIG to give him immunity to childhood diseases. Did they do any bloodwork for Wyatt? son occasionally gets thrush (yeast) in his mouth and back of his throat. But not often. Good luck to you Laurel
