Hi Darla:

That sounds like a wonderful make a wish; especially if it is hard to

travel and this is a wonderful family get together; especially in the winter.

I can't imgines such a large screen. Do you have a large room to

put it in? I was trying to picture some thing that large in our living

room; because Leah loves tv and her favorite videos are the Baby Einstein

videos. Now, especially the animal ones. Do you have a video

camera so you can view her big birthday next week on the big tv?

I know Leah loves to look at herself and also recognizes her family members

and gets excited to see them on "tv". I hope the birthday party is

a true celebration of being 4. What a milestone for her and your

family. Celebrate loud, wild, and just plain full of fun.

meet w/ him for his. Was it odd when u applied for it? like a

reality that something could happen . I guess my mom said she doesnt

see zach as having a life threatening disease but he was in the

hospital on o2 in july for 3 days so i would think that would put

him as life threatening no?

The reason we applied was because we already knew her condition was life threatening. Of course, we have the brain vasculitis on top of the Mito so we could NOT know how serious her condition is. Every day we have with her is a blessing. The possibility of her having a stroke that kills her is always before our eyes. Every time I give her her steroid I know it is her only chance or at least a chance to prolong her life. I think without the vasculitis she might do ok for quite a while, but with the vasculitis, her prognosis is much more grim. Sorry your mom doesn't see Mito in a clear light. We know in this group that Mito can be fatal for our kids. Some have it much more serious than others for sure, but it is still an unknown for each of us. Thanks for the note.
