The sun doesn't bother you? If I am in the light any length of time I get so sick and weak it isn't funny. It will put an end to whatever I'm doing real quick, and when I do come in out of it I can't stay awake. If I sit down, I conk out///Connie

I can handle the sun ok, if I have sunscreen and it's cool out. Add the heat, and I'm screwed.

I do find that if I make sure to get the fluids down, I'll tolerate the sun better--hmmm, I think that one is Health 101. LOL! (and it took years for me to catch on)

Alot of the meds I'm on do make me more sensitive to sunlight--so I burn easier, and then if I blister--the sarc loves the blistered spot to send the white cells to--and never stop. .

So, it's sunscreen, a hat, long sleeve cotton shirt, and plenty of ice tea or water. (Go decaf, as the caffeine adds to dehydration)

I just read an article in Reader's Digest about sun protection. It mentioned a product that makes your clothes more protective & lasts through like 20 washes. I know just wearing a shirt doesn't do it for me; I can burn right through it. I'll look for the article, but I'm sure the info would be on the RD website.

I did some research on that last

year, and found that sun doesn’t go through silk, so I have a couple of

light weight silk long sleeve shirts, that I put over my tank tops when I’m

outside and they do work pretty good, I got them through the Chadwick’s

of Boston catalog and they were reasonable price. Anyway they work for

me.

Last year when the girls and I from the foundation did the ACS Relay for Life, we each received a flyer about a clothing line that is lightweight but impenetrable to the sun's rays. It was VERY interesting. I'll see if I can find it, or if one of my buddies has a copy for me. I'll get you the info, if I can! :) Hugs, JeannieMarla Bramer wrote: I did some research on that last year, and found that sun doesn’t go through silk, so I have a couple of light weight silk long sleeve shirts, that I put over my tank tops when I’m outside and they do work pretty good, I got them through the Chadwick’s of Boston catalog and they were reasonable price.
