Guest guest
Abbey shakes when she needs something to eat. We use cornstarch at night b/c it's the food that takes the longest to metabolize. Also, she has difficulties regulating her body temperature. Her temp. goes up and down some days. After Abbey gets sick it takes her a long time to get over it. She had a viral infection over Christmas and she slept for 4 days, waking for just a few hours a day. For days after, she couldn't walk, which she's been doing for 6 months now. She seemed to forget how to put the shapes in the shape sorter which she loves to do. It was a good two weeks before she was feeling herself again. She gets really crnaky and frustrated but the doctors say she'll probably always suffer these problems after an illness so we just take it a day at a time. Hope Zipporah is feeling better. > Hi all, > I am coming to the experts again for information. Zipporrah has been moving her left arm a little better but still moves it less than the right arm, has tightness in left shoulder, and postures it frequently still The left leg is also somewhat better but not as good as the right leg. It also hit us that she no longer knows how to play what we call the tongue game where she copies up sticking out her tongue after we do it. She could do it from 1 day old up until a couple weeks ago when I last tried. But when we were trying it today with her she seemed to be trying but couldn't. Also we have noticed a lot of trembling in her extremities especially when she is excited (We did check her blood sugar just in case and it was 124). She has been sleeping much more and much more cranky yesterday and today as well. AND her temperature seems to be up and down. I needed batteries in my thermometer so am going only on touch with that, but sure feels up and down. Sweaty one minute and cool to the touch the next minute. I am wondering what exactly is going on. It occurred to me that a SLE could be a possibility because everything seemed to get much worse after her RSV. I am hopeful that CP isn't an issue with her starting to improve but not happy about the possibility of a SLE either. If anyone has an opinion as to what could be happening I would appreciate it. > > Darla: mommy to Asenath, Zipporrah, Luke, Leah, , Isaa, Tirzah, Isaac, Tirzah, Marquis, and KeziaGet more from the Web. Guest guest
Darla, This is the same trembling has. The doctors told us that it is like muscle fatigue as he builds up acids in his cells and can't process them out. The example they gave us it the trembling the marathon runner experiences when they hit the finish line. If you are there they can do an acid level but this in a draw which requires there be no rubber band be used. It is not as accurate as some of the others. Twana we have noticed a lot of trembling in her extremities especially when she is excited
Guest guest
I remember my sister mentioning this happening to her son. It only happened a few times, when he was an infant. I think she said only one side of his body would shake. It went away after a while on it's own. My nephew is perfectly healthy, so maybe its just a weird baby thing. I would defiantly bring it up at your appt. next week. Does she do this after nursing her? Could it possibly come from just holding her in a certain position for a while. Just some possible reassuring thoughts. Hope all goes well. Did you have any special prenatal testing done on Zipporah, knowing Asthena's diagnosis? Just asking because we just found out this week, we are expecting another baby in Sept. I am going to use the Cleveland Clinic for my OB care, so it will be nice having Dr. Cohen as a reference. But I just wanted to know in advance if there even was any testing available. Saying a prayer for the whole family
