Guest guest
I finally got my wires off last weekend (5 weeks) and I couldn't feel better. The hell was definitely worth it. I got home from the surgeon and made myself scrambled eggs, my first real meal! Since then, I've basically been eating everything I normally would, with the exception of something unusually tough, like steak. I love my smile now (will be even better when braces come off in 2 months) and everything healed well. My only question is this. I had a slight underbite and had it moved back about 4-6mm. Now that the wires are off, my bite lands the way it should in the new position. However, if I try retract my lower back, i can move my top teeth back behind my lower teeth, sorta of the way it was before, but not as severe. Of course, it feels wierd and I couldn't chew that way. But I never could do the oppositie when I had an underbite, that is move my upper teeth over my lower. Often when I'm eating the upper and lower front teeth land on each other by accident. Is this because my muscles still aren't used to the new bite and need time to streth? Obviously, the teeth are in the position they should be, so I'm just wondering if over this will go away and I won't be able to move the lower back quite so much.
