Every step I have taken has been bad

3 years ago, I decided to have my chin fixed. I thought the problem

that I was having with my profile would be fixed by this. The maxilo-

facial surgeon suggested that I have the chin broken and advanced

forward. What I did not realize was that if the whole jaw was not

brought forward, then my lower lip would still be receading and the

crease in my chin would get much, much deaper. I was also missing my

second to last lower molar so he suggested an implant after the chin

was brought forward. I went ahead and did that as well.

I hate the results of the chin enhancement and I am trying to correct

it now. However, to do the ortho that is needed, teeth need to be

pulled. Wouldn't you know that the teeth that should have been pulled

can not be pulled because it is the darn implant and the bone fuses

to the metal. Additionally, even if other teeth can be pulled and

they can find enough space to make it worth wild, my new maxilofacial

surgeon is telling me that the chin will need to be reduced. He said

that this is complicated because the skin has been streched out and

the concern is that it may not go back and adhere properly or take

the proper shape. I don't understand why he can't cut the excessive

skin from underneeth, like a localalized face lift and pull it tight.

A scar on my jaw or under my chin would be better then a big poofy

pillow sticking out from the end of my chin.

Does anyone have any info on this that could help me??? I don't want

to make another bad decision.
