Guest guest
Sorry you had such a rough ride of it, Tad. It's pretty unusual, I think, to have such troubles. But that doesn't help if you're the one it happens to. The more I read of stories like yours, the more I am convinced that my surgeon, who doesn't even wire people shut, at least for the most part, insists that his patients spend the first night in something called the post anesthesia care unit, who cared only for me that night. I had no trouble whatsoever, but I was grateful to have someone watching out for me. I am also becoming convinced that anybody who's wired should be in a unit where patients can be given much closer and more individual attention, and from nurseswhere who are experienced (or have had special training in) the care of patients who have had this surgery. I hope one good thing that will come of your experience may be that your surgeon will realize that he needs to do something to improve this part of his post-op care for his patients. Take care, and best wishes. Cammie
