Guest guest
etta I can really empathise with you and your sister's situation. She sounds very much like my mother. Her excuse was I was wanting to deny her her only " cough cough splutter wheeze " pleasure in life. It took a really big jolt to make her see reason and sense but by then it was too late. She gave up and regretted taking up the habit but her lungs were wrecked and she was on perpetual oxygen for the reast of her life. Your sister is really tempting fate and I share your concern. I hope she sees reason before it is too late. When I gave up smoking I was still a student and a bit radical. Apart from the reasons I have already given, the Australian government increased taxes to, I reasoned, fund an activity I did not support and it was easy for me at that point. I agree people must WANT to give up to be successful. Many just pay lip service and will end up regretting later. The best time to quit is now and the only safe level of cigarette smoking is zero.
