Hooray, congrats on being cleared to chew! I'd think the

medium-textured stuff like burgers and fries would be fine at 6 weeks,

and potato chips break up so easily I don't think they'd cause

troubles easier - but like he said, don't go nuts or anything. I'd

still avoid really crunchy stuff like raw carrots and sticky things

like caramels.

My surgeon said I could chew soft foods the week after my surgery.

I've been successfully chewing things like canned green beans, banana,

and soft cookies.

I'm 10 days post-op and had my first hamburger yesterday. ok, i

didn't chew it, but i cut it into tiny pieces enough to just swallow

them. sure it took me 40 minutes to finish it but it was well worth

it!!
