Hey, i'm guessing you have an open bite, which is what i have as

well. i hope things go well for you. i haven't started treatment (i

haven't decided on an orthodontist or surgeon). i imagine the

swelling is more severe, but the numbness less so.

No one has used those terms with me, but that's what I'm having

done. My molars are being brought almost half an inch closer to my

eyeballs, and my lower jaw brought back about 4 mm. My surgery is

March 25th. Write me personally afterward with specific questions

and I'll tell you how it goes.

Not me, but a lot of other folks. Read some of the back posts -- but

don't get scared before you read past the initial difficulties some

folks have. then come back with specific questions, and I think

you'll feel better prepared about what may be going on for you post-

op.

It can start out rough, but almost always winds up with a satisfied

patient, at least in my experience on these sites.
