That is actually low!!! My initial consult was upwards of $500. My

surgeon did not accept the health insurance that I had at the time of

my consult, so that was all out of pocket for me.

I saw several surgeons and found they had different policies. The most

expensive

one I saw billed $270, but he also took the most xrays and models and spent the

most time with me.

You also might be able to be partially reimbursed from your insurance company.
