Babe, I didn't mean it as a compliment or a criticism... I just

thought it was funny that I'd misunderstood.

Actually, 40 isn't old, at all. Ask any 80-year-old you know!

But I will also tell you what the charming poet Judith Viorst once

told me in an interview: the 50s are even better! And that's true, in

my experience. We have been in some hell holes that make jaw surgery

look like a walk in the park in this, my sixth decade, but by and

large, it only gets better and better, honest. Especially if your

mouth is working and no longer a source of trouble!!!

And yes, it is wonderful to realize how many kind friends are eager

to help with whatever troubles you have. I agree totally.

Breathtaking, in fact.

Hmmmmmm. Ask your mom to go get out the blender, and fix you whatever

kind of chocolate shake you want, but put a couple of tablespoons of

peanut butter in it and blend it. Maybe that will help the craving.

It's good protein, too! ;~)

Besides, it'll drown out the chatter!

I dunno what your doc wants, but mine, although (or maybe because) I

wasn't wired, nor banded, did not want me trying to talk. " DO NOT

TALK " he said. " I know you like to talk. A lot. DO NOT. "

I tried not to... Not always successfully -- maybe I'm your mom's

first cousin!

Take care. You sound as though you're doing well, and I'm so glad.
