How long did you wear your braces for before surgery??

I just got my braces yesterday and now I'm already wondering how long until I

can

have the surgery performed. I have about a 7mm overbite but my teeth are pretty

straight and he just has to fix some crowding and flatten out my uppers. My

surgeon

(Arnett) told me that I can expect between 6-18 months of orthodontic work

before

surgery. How long did you guys wear your braces for before you were allowed to

schedule a surgery date?
