Guest guest
Thanks for the clarification on this one, Kris. I reckon I was indeed confusing canker sores and cold sores, or assuming that both were the same. So herpes plays no role in the canker sores, then... The canker sores sound really nasty. I don't think I have ever had a full-fledged one such as you described... And that's something for which to be grateful! Thanks again. Cammie P.S.: Where do you find myrrh? First you have to find and ask a wise man! tee-hee! ;~) > Are we talking about canker sores (mouth ulcers) or cold sores > (blisters on your lips)? > > Cold sores are caused by herpies simplex virus, and happen usually > around the lips or just inside the mouth. Guest guest
< > My father and I have always had canker sores - I started getting them as a little kid. My mother gets cold sores. She says they hurt, and I know canker sores hurt, so if I had to pick between the two, I'd stick with canker sores. At least they're not visible and ugly. Dad swears that if you take B vitamins, the canker sores will go away faster. It works for him. It does diddly-squat for me - I think they actually lasted longer the one time I tried it. Now that I think about it, since I lost my ability to handle acidic foods and no longer eat them, I haven't had very many canker sores at all. Even the two places my braces are catching on my cheeks aren't getting sores. That must have been my trigger. (I'll trade - give me back the sores and let me eat oranges and grapefruit and tomato sauce again!) Kris
Guest guest
The business about the acid triggering them also makes sense, in terms of folks having had good results from the Maalox or Milk of Magnesia rinses...
