Guest guest
WHOA! Today I rec'd a copy of the check that my insurance company just sent to the hosptial, and its $58,918.00!! wow 3 days and 2 nites in the hosipital is expensive!! The acutal charges were originally $88,554.00, but there was a 'provider discount' of almost $30K. I'm really kinda surprised how much it is. It was a pretty routine hospital stay, its not like i was on life support or anything. lol and i have to keep in mind this was just the hospital bill. doesnt include doctors, surgeons, anesthseologist, etc charges. all of which will slowly come filtering in the next few months. I haven't yet figured out how much this is going to cost me personally. dumb maybe, but i dont want to know yet. I'll deal with all that later. Guest guest
I stayed 1 night in a semi-private room to the tune of $39K. The hospital is a provider under my insurance plan, so I know they're not going to get that much in reimbursement. However, I'm with you - it amazes me that they can charge so much when I needed no special treatment.. and didn't even have a private room! haha! Thank God for insurance. > WHOA!
