I agree with that, too. Think about what's gonna happen, and ask as

many questions as you can figure out about what that might be. (A new

one for me lately was that a woman was restrained immediately post-

op, with a splint and wired mouth and other troubles including

breathing and ng tubes. That would have been horrendous for me, and I

cannot believe my doc would ever do that. Unless it had been a

queston of life or death. Ask. Ask. Ask.)

However, I do not believe that everybody here is a " happy camper. " At

least as I understand that phrase. It ain't easy, from finding a

chauffeur to the hospital, to putting up with the recovery.

It's just that it's really a relief to find out that for the most

part, the surgery is easier -- and let's be fair, our docs help it to

be so -- than we anticipate.

Nobody can get surgical outcomes 100 per cent on the nose. At least,

I haven't heard of anybody who can. If that's what you're expecting,

go home and sit in your tent, and think many times again about

whether where you are is better than where you could be. Of course,

" some numbness " can be miserable. Your " little pain " can be my Big

Bad Misery. " But I doubt that such is the usual case scenario. Or

that the doc would not try to help you.

You have to be willing to front some risks, too, I think. Hey -- you

drive a car, from time to time?

Your doc should be willing to try to help you find the best

resolution, if you are square with him/her, and things do not work

out as expected. Or so I believe, and so I believe mine would/does.
