Guest guest
Hey all, Life is busy around here so I am rarely on this site lately. I just wanted to post for all the pre-oppers out there and let you know that at 3 months out from upper and lower, I have no numbness at all. I can feel my lower lip and chin, (and they were the last to " un numb.. " ) as well as my palate. I am 12 mm short of a normal opening, but that will come if I just work on stretching more. The problems I had prior to surgery, (headaches, open bite, tmj, pain) are a distant memory. In fact, these last few weeks I have had days where I even forget I had the surgery and take eating a piece of pizza for granted! SHAME ON ME. Early recovery was difficult and I hated the stent, being banded shut. I lost 20 pounds, which put me down to around 90. Now I am happily back at 100 and have resumed all my activities except boxing. Haha. So for me, the surgery was a complete success and I have no lasting effects. I hope this is the case for many, many of you, because this is a difficult and rather life changing surgery. God bless, Alix
