Guest guest Posted March 19, 2004 Report Share Posted March 19, 2004 Hello- March 10th was the big day for me. I had the lower jaw pulled back and the upper haw lowered. I was in the hospital for 2 days and I could not wait to get out. The swelling was my biggest problem. What little pain I did have was from the bone graft from my hip. I stayed with relatives for four days after my release from the hospital. If there is one big tip I could offer, is that it's good to stay with somebody after you are discharged from the hospital. Especially for those single people out there. After nine days my swelling is confined to my nose down to my chin and my lower lip feels like 5 times it's normal size. My diet is limted to things that I can swallow and not chew. And I was banded and not wired shut. My surgeon and orthodontist are happy with the progess.
