Hi Britt,

My therapist suggested a treatment the day after surgery as well.

But, I ended up going three days post-op because of scheduling problems.

Good luck,

Hi Britt,

I had a session about 4 days pre-op (that was the closest to surgery

I could get an appointment) since my therapist wanted to " open things

up " . Then I had my first appointment the day I got out of hospital,

which was day 2 post-op (not including day of surgery). I don't think

it will be a problem, just let your therapist know if you feel any

pain at all, normally this is a light touch therapy that gently opens

up the teensy little channels in the lymphatic system. I did feel

pain, but it turned out that the therapist was gently working on my

upper lip, and it was being irritated by the twisted wire surgical

hooks underneath! So we went easier there.

One thing I found was very helpful for me was that my therapist

showed me some simple things I could do myself, to keep things moving

between sessions. As soon as I could, the first day of surgery, I

started a gentle self-massage. I did it as often as I could remember,

probably 3-4 times a day. You might want to ask about that.

Good luck, hope you're eating all your favourite foods this

weekend!!!!
