Hi all,

I hope this Monday finds all of you in good spirits, that is my hope.

I was wondering if any of you experince noticeable swelling, such as

in the legs, feet, face, etc.

I am still learning about FM and even though I have read a lot, been

told a lot and have experienced a lot, I still do not understand this

all that well.

My rheumatologist does not believe in actual " pain killers " but

rather in supplements. He has put me on Proantho-C, CoQ10 ST-100,

Myocalm and others. Since I also have psoratic arthritis he also has

me taking EPA-DHA (fish oil).

The psoriasis is out of control at this time and so is the pain. I

have been praying for the strength to fight this, but at times I feel

like I am fighting a losing battle.

I have not worked in a year and my whole life has been about working

up the corporate ladder.

I have been taking Ambien for the sleep problem and some nights it

works and others I still wake up at 2 or 3 am and stay awake.

I thank all of those that have emailed me such supportive and

informative emails about how their lives have been affected by this

disorder.

I am currently battling with my insurance company over paying the

bills to the rheumatologist and also for long term disability. I

decided a year ago that I would be back to work in a couple of

months, but I was wrong. I put off attempting to apply for any type

of disability, because to me, I would be losing the war rather than

winning it. But now, it has been a year since I have worked and my

savings is gone and I am living on borrowed money.

God has been good to me and I know that he is watching over me. But

I am still human and I know that I am on a " pity pot " right now, but

that is just another hurdle that I will jump over!

Thanks again for listening, I am so glad that I have found this group!

I swell in the face, hands, knees, ankles and feet. My back hurts like I have

kidney infection that is why I drink lots of water. My breast hurt to be touched

and I can't even wear a bra when I have the swelling. Even my hips, it is

terrible.

So you are taking supplements how much dosage of each and it is calulated by

your weight? Would you write all you're taking and how much, I am wanting to go

all natural since the perscription crap don't work any more. And you know I did

look up the book on Back to Eden by Jethro Kloss and it has lots of stuff in

there, I have ordered this book, I do thank Mick for sending in what worked for

her and it has given me hope which I had lost! This group is great for support

I've only noticed swelling in my hands. But the medications have

caused me to gain a significant amount of weight and I had to give up

my 5-day-a-week workouts. Bummer!!

I, too, climbed the corporate ladder and had a hard time going on

disability. It made me feel like such a loser to give in to this

disease. I've been fighting the LTD company since January - what a

lack of knowledge they have!

Are you married? Do you have kids at home? If so, maybe instead of

sitting on the " pity pot " you can thank God that he gave you this

time to spend with your family instead of the corporate boys club. I

know I do.

Best of luck...

Hi Ed,

Maybe the answer to the swelling is that for you, during and after an attack,

the while GI tract is upset and swells. Most of the GI tract is in the lower

trunk area. Just a thought.

Best wishes, Poncho - GA
