Yea. I made it!! It was a rough time for me the first day/night. (I

had upper and lower and chin, and it was 6.5 hours!!!!! zoinks!). I

was really tied an nauseated after my surgery, and they kept telling

me to drink, and sit up, but I was so nauseated, I couldn't! Finally,

I threw up a ton of blood--YUCK! But then I felt better. I also had a

hard time adjusting to being banded--kept thinking I was going to stop

breathing, The nurses and doctors were patient with me, but I could

tell they were getting frustrated with me, but they were still sweet.

My lips are the size of the TITANIC!! I can only open a teeny hole in

my mouth! I didn't realize how hard it is to drink. With this splint

in my mouth, even with Zip-n-Squeeze and a syrynge, it's been really

hard to swallow. It feel like my tongue takes up my whole mouth. I

can't seem to figure it out. I haven't had a whole lot, mostly meds

and juice and water. A little bit of broth, but it's a big messy,

drippy ordeal. Wasn't I the one who--a few months ago--was telling

somebody to drink broth, broth, broth for protein. ha ha.

Well, I gotta email all my friends and family, so I'll sign off for

now. BTW, thanks to whoever gave the suggestion for a pretty scarf to

wrap around my head/face. I looked Muslim, so nobody gave me a second

glance, couldn't see my lips! Yea.

Cheers,

Eileen
